The weather forecast was horrible for the weekend but we managed to arrive to Castells ok, with no rain or anything else... On the way, we saw hundreds of almond trees and their lovely flowers, pink, white and both everywhere. It is a unique view to see. Very special.
We had two customers: Adolfo and Maria Dolores, from Alicante. They came saturday morning, we checked in (Hotel Serrella Castell de Castells)and we went for a walk to the castle and the "Arc dels Atanços". On the way to the castle started to snow....BIG TIME!! See the pictures...
We could not believe it but yes, it was snowing like in December time!! Great fun and great pictures. We couldn´t see the magestic views of the valley but we didnt mind as it was loooovely! :) After the castle we went to the rock formations called "Arc dels Atanços", see also picture.

Came back to the hotel, had lunch and in the afternoon we had a SPA and jacuzzi swim. The jacuzzi in hotel Serrella had a big window and we could see snowing while we where having a hot bath...turkish sauna to finish the job and a little siesta afterwards and before dinner.
Dinner was amazing (THANKS HOTEL SERRELLA!) The chef did a variety of entries (salmon, hot camembert cheese with blackberries chutney, great salad, selection of pates) and a main course (grilled smooth and incredibly soft pork steak, with a creamy sauce and an amazing potato, egg and courgette pie. The dessert was just unbelievable. We had a kind of vanilla ice-cream covered in crispy chocolate, with some sort of sponge cake in the middle...I am getting hungry right now! hahaha!
The orange sorbet in between dishes was delicious. We had wine, and cava and the rest!
Went to sleep at about 2am and woke up at 9 for breakfast the next day. As it was still snowing and very cold we didn´t do the walk up to the rock paintings of Petracos. We spent more time visiting the town´s museum and saw a very modern exhibition of the paintings, and then we went to see the paintings. I really recommend you this visit. The museum is lovely and has a great display of old pictures of the village and its people from the 20s. Visit the website Museo Etnológico Inicio/Ayuntamiento/Servicios Municipales.
The tour had finished but Maria Dolores and Adolfo were so happy to be there that took us to La Vall D´Ebó for lunch (THANK YOU GUYS!!). We had a selection of very nice tapas and then came back home!
It was a veeeery nice weekend, very enjoyable and our two first customers went home with a smile in their faces. This is all I can ask for after a trip. :)

Este es el ultimo viaje que organicé, junto con Jose Miguel, de Aitana Aventures. Nuestro primer viaje juntos. Lo hicimos porque queríamos ir a ver los almendros en flor en la zona de Castell de Castells y Jose ya tenía una ruta medio diseñada para esa zona. El fin de semana que estábamos disponibles, resultó ser el de San Valentín, así que al final nos salió, sin pretenderlo, un fin de semana muy romántico…
El tiempo para el fin de semana se preveía horrible pero conseguimos llegar a Castells sin problema, sin lluvia u otra cosa… De camino vimos cientos de almendros en flor: Flores blancas, rosas y de ambos colores, por todas partes. Una vista única. Muy, muy especial.
Tuvimos dos viajeros: Adolfo y Maria Dolores, de Alicante. Llegaron el sábado por la mañana, nos alojamos en el hotel(Hotel Serrella Castell de Castells) y nos fuimos caminando al castillo de Castells y al Arc dels Atanços. De camino al castillo empezó a nevar…PERO MUCHO!! Ver las fotos…
No nos lo podíamos creer pero SÍ, estaba nevando como si fuera diciembre!! Fue super divertido y salieron unas fotos estupendas. No pudimos ver las vistas increíbles desde lo alto del castillo pero no nos importó, pues con la nieve resultó un momento muy especial y estábamos encantados. Después del castillo fuimos al Arc dels Atanços. Ver las fotos…

Volvimos al hotel, comimos y por la tarde nos hicimos una sesión de SPA, jacuzzi y sauna turca. El jacuzzi en el hotel Serrella da a una ventana grande. Podíamos ver nevar y todas las montañas blancas miestras nos relajábamos. Una siestita después del SPA y antes de cenar, perfecto para hacer hambre.
La cena fue incredible (GRACIAS HOTEL SERRELLA!) El chef nos hizo una selección de entradas (salmón ahumado, queso camembert caliente con mermelada, ensalada riquísima, tabla de pates) y un segundo plato, medallón de cerdo con una salsa cremosa y un pastel que estaba para chuparse los dedos, de patata, calabacín y huevo. El postre de locura…tomamos una especia de helado-mus de vainilla, cubierta de chocolate crujiente, con un poco de bizcocho o galleta mojada en la base…ay! Que hambre me está entrando…jajajaja!
El sorbete de naranja entre las entradas y el segundo plato estuvo delicioso. Tomamos vino, cava y el resto que ya os lo podéis imaginar!
Nos fuimos a dormir alrededor de las 2am y al día siguiente nos despertamos a las 9am para desayunar. Como seguía nevando no hicimos la caminata a las pinturas de Petracos. Pasamos más tiempo visitando el museo etnológico y la moderna exhibición de las pinturas de Petracos que allí tienen. Os recomiendo esta visita. El museo está genial. Me gustaron mucho las fotografías del pueblo y sus gentes desde los años 20 y el audio que te ponen explicando cómo vivía la gente antaño, para más info podéis visitar Museo Etnológico Inicio/Ayuntamiento/Servicios Municipales.
El viaje había terminado pero Maria Dolores y Adolfo estaban tan contentos de estar allí que nos llevaron a comer a La Vall D´Ebó (MUCHAS GRACIAS CHICOS!!). Nos comimos unas tapitas y ále, regreso a casa!
Ha sido un fin de semana estupendo. Lo disfrutamos mucho y nuestros dos primeros clientes se fueron a casa con una sonrisa en la cara. Esto es todo lo que le puedo pedir yo a mis viajes. :)
